Pop!_OS is an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution featuring a custom GNOME desktop. Pop!_OS is designed to have a minimal amount of clutter on the desktop without distractions in order to allow the user to focus on work. The distribution has published a new development release, Pop!_OS 20.04 Beta, which offers window tiling and includes support for Flatpak packages with the Flathub repository enabled. “Pop!_OS 20.04 features automatic window tiling. To activate tiling mode, click the tiling menu icon at the top right of the screen and toggle on Tile Windows. Open and newly launched windows will be automatically tiled. Toggling off Tile Windows will revert to floating mode. Click the tiling menu icon again and choose Keyboard Shortcuts. This help application will show you how to navigate, move, and resize windows all with your keyboard. Type Super + / to activate the new application switcher and launcher. Instead of Super + Tabbing through application icons, simply type Super + / and start typing the name of the application you want to switch to or launch.” Further details on the beta can be found in the project’s release notes. There are separate downloads offered for people with NVIDIA or Intel and AMD video cards. Download (pkglist😞 pop-os_20.04_amd64_intel_4.iso (2,147MB), pop-os_20.04_amd64_nvidia_4.iso (2,422MB).
