Happy New Year 2021! For those of you who’d like to start the new decade with giving a spin to an exciting development release, here is your first chance. The release candidate for the upcoming OpenMandriva Lx 4.2 is now ready for testing: “The release candidate (RC) milestone of OpenMandriva Lx 4.2 release cycle has been released. A release candidate has the potential to be a final product. A short time ago we anticipated the release of beta in December and the product received an intensive internal testing. The testers reported that the current quality is more close to RC than beta. Major changes since 4.2 alpha: the Linux kernel has been updated to version 5.10.3; Qt has been updated to 5.15.2; KDE products have been updated - Frameworks 5.77.0, Plasma Desktop 5.20.4, Applications 20.12.0; LibreOffice has been updated to 7.1; the port to Aarch64 (64-bit ARM processors) is complete and installable images are available for the Pinebook Pro, Raspberry Pi 4B, Raspberry Pi 3B+, Synquacer, Cubox Pulse and generic UEFI compatible devices.” Read the release announcement and release notes for further details.
