Glen Barber has announced the availability of the second beta snapshot of FreeBSD 13.0, the upcoming new stable version scheduled for final release on 23 March (after one more BETA and three RC builds): “The second BETA build of the 13.0-RELEASE release cycle is now available. A summary of changes since 13.0-BETA1 includes: issues with 32-bit builds have been fixed; shared libraries have been updated following an update to ncurses; support for kernel TLS offload has been added (off by default); the mlx5en(4) driver has been included in the amd64 GENERIC kernel by default; documentation included on installation medium has been removed; a null pointer dereference has been addressed; other miscellaneous bug fixes. A list of changes since 12.2-RELEASE is available in the releng/13.0 release notes. Please note, the release notes page is not yet complete and will be updated on an ongoing basis as the 13.0-RELEASE cycle progresses.” Read the rest of the release announcement for further details.
